Community Pharmacy Referral Scheme
What is this new service about?
Very soon, when you call the practice, you will be asked about your symptoms. If they indicate that you can best be helped by a pharmacist, you will be offered a same day private consultation with a community pharmacist.
Community pharmacists have already successfully seen thousands of patients for a consultation for a minor illness, following a call to NHS 111. This new way of arranging consultations with the pharmacist by a GP practice, has been successfully piloted around the country.

PEARS REFERRAL SCHEME
Have you got a sudden new eye problem? You can get this assessed free of charge at most local opticians If you are registered with a Kirklees or Calderdale GP and have a new acute eye problem, such as a red, painful eye, a foreign body in the eye or sudden deterioration of your vision, you can now get assessed at a number of local opticians’ practices. This means every optician participating in the PEARS scheme can examine and possibly treat you for the problem. If the optician finds your eye problem is more complicated, they will be able to refer you directly to the Ophthalmology department at the hospital. Please click on the link below to find our further information and a list of opticians who offer this service.
Pregnancy and Covid Vaccination
The COVID-19 vaccination is the best way to protect against the known risks of COVID-19 in pregnancy, including admission to intensive care and premature birth. It’s recommended by @RCObsGyn and @MidwivesRCM If you’re expecting and you haven’t had yours yet, make a booking @ nhs.uk/covidvaccine.
